About

Dave is an Artist and contemporary Goldsmith  with over 15 years’ Jewellery Industry experience working both in the UK, Italy and Norway amongst others.

 

Most recently Dave has been based in Italy and in addition to teaching Jewellery he also curated several exhibitions including “MAN” contemporary jewellery, Vicenza, “Body Talk” in Padova and joint curator for Associazione Contemporanea Gioiellodentro exhibition, Venice. 

 

Dave has an extensive range of teaching experience including a post of Jewellery Professor at Scuola D’arte e Mestieri, in Vicenza Italy,  UK National Curriculum Art & Design teacher and Private Tutor Art, Design and Jewellery.

Dave studied Jewellery & Silversmithing, Cultural Studies, Professional Studies, Contemporary Design and Marketing/Branding  for two years at Sheffield Hallam University and decided to diversify when he won a Business Scholarship.  After completing his studies Dave decided to specialise in Jewellery but he continues to explore other creative areas occasionally, recently Dave has been exploring the area of graphic motion.

 

He has a wide range of Jewellery industry tools and equipment, exploring industrial metal fabrication for period before university, and therefore familiar with machines as large pedestal drills, a four meter guillotine, metal from press with specific profile tooling, lathes and hydraulic presses etc.

 

Now based back in the UK he continues working in his own Contemporary Jewellery business, he continues to teach international courses occasionally and specialises in one-to-one tuition in his Nottinghamshire studio.
