Course Description

This three hour course has been specially designed to be an informative and enjoyable introduction to the basic methods for dating Vintage Jewellery, in which fascinating course content is delivered a Jewellery Historian and Goldsmith.

On this introduction to the subject matter you will learn the basics of how Jewellery styles provide important clues for determining a date, and the tutor will also reveal the brief historical context of certain types of jewellery within their date period. 

Also covered is the importance of Hallmarks and Taxation Marks and how to read these to establish the date of a piece of jewellery.

Delivered interactively via Zoom Meetings, Jewellery Historian and Goldsmith William, delivers a valuable and fascinating course for learning more about Vintage Jewellery.

 

  • The course is split into 2x 1.5 hour sessions

  • Course notes will be provided before the course starts so that you can refer to these during the course and make a note of a questions arising you might like to ask during the course.

This course is not a suitable alternative to our Jewellery Valuation Course.

HOW ONLINE TEACHING WORKS

For this course, tuition is delivered interactively via Zoom.

​

You join free at Zoom.us and the tutor emails you a link to join your one-to-one course session just before the agreed start time.

  • You simply copy the meeting code provided in the link

  • Open Zoom on your PC or Laptop

  • Click join meeting and paste your meeting code into the box provided.

Advanced Course | How to Date Vintage Jewellery | 6 Hours

Extending our introduction to Vintage Jewellery course by 3 hours allows the tutor the time include much more in-depth content on the large subject area of dating Jewellery.

What is the course date?

The course date is set by you, so that you can undertake a tuition session at your convenience.

 

All dates / times of course sessions are subject to tutor availability.

​

Start time are generally 10.30am or 1.30pm GMT London time but this can be adjusted slightly to suit, please ask if required.

Tuition is interactive, delivered via Zoom.us and fully guided by the tutor.

About the Course Fee

A large portion of the course fee quoted is paid to the tutor, because, it’s their expertise that you pay for.

​

Where there is a selection of tutors,  course, fee's may vary due to individual tutor requirements for teaching.

 

In addition a there is a small fee for arranging your course which is included in the total course fee.

​

Payment

Course fee payment is required in advanced by BACS Bank Transfer invoice or IBAN for international students.

​

Vat/Tax is not applicable

Payment Terms

Payment is required in advance and payments are handled safely and securely by BACS Bank Transfer invoicing (IBAN for International students.

Instalments

Some courses are available to pay in instalments, whereby a non-refundable deposit is required to book your course date. Please ask for details if this is of interest to you.

 

Booking Terms

  • Once you have booked a* cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund if you cancel your course up to and including 14 days prior to the start of the course once your payment has been received.

 

  • Cancellations received within 14 days of the course date are not eligible for a refund, however you may re-arrange your course for one other date if you wish. 

 

  • Should we need to cancel your course due to unforeseen circumstances we will refund your course fee in full.

​

* Amount is variable depending on the duration and type of the course.  When you enquire, out quote reply will provide the actual cancellation amount applicable. For example £95 applies to a standard one day course.
