The emphasis of this course is to learn techniques for stringing and knotting pearls or beads to create professionally finished necklaces and bracelets.

Guided by your skill level you may learn techniques with step-by-step tutor guidance or ask for help on troublesome threading, knotting or tension issues. Depending on your progress you may make more than one necklace on the day.

During the day you will learn many bead jewellery design tips from the tutor to help you create the beautiful pearl or bead Jewellery you wish to make.

  • How to create the correct space and tension between pearls / beads

  • How to choose and add a clasp to your Jewellery for a professional finish

  • How to choose the correct sizes and shapes of beads/pearls for balance

  • Considering colour combinations

ONLINE COURSE MATERIALS

BASIC MATERIALS KIT - Included

​

A basic materials kit is  included in the course fee, which is posted to students before the course.

This kit includes:

​

1 x Cultured FWP 16" Strand

1 x Pearl clasp

3 x Stringing needles

3 x Pre- conditioned stringing thread

Some Gimp / French wire

​

​

YOU NEED TO HAVE/BUY  - NOT Included

​

1x Thread Cutter

A basic Cuticle Trimmer works well or some small sharp scissors

​

1x Adhesive (To secure thread ends)

REG-S Hypo Cement is recommended available from most craft / jewellery suppliers or clear nail varnish is commonly used and works well.

​

2 x Sewing needles (For undoing the knots)

​

1x Beading mat or surface

This can be any soft material to lay out the pearls and stop them rolling.

​

​

YOUR OWN PEARLS / BEADS:  IMPORTANT NOTE

​

If you wish to use your own beads, you MUST advise the tutor before the course to obtain advice and ensure that you have the appropriate size thread to suit the size hole of your the beads, this means you may need to make an independant purchase to use your own beads.

HOW ONLINE TEACHING WORKS

​

For this course, tuition is delivered interactively via Zoom.

​

You join free at Zoom.us and the tutor emails you a link to join your one-to-one course session just before the agreed start time.

  • You simply copy the meeting code provided in the link

  • Open Zoom on your PC or Laptop

  • Click join meeting and paste your meeting code into the box provided.

What is the course date?

The course date is set by you, so that you can undertake a tuition session at your convenience.

 

All dates / times of course sessions are subject to tutor availability.

​

Start time are generally 10am GMT London Time but this can be adjusted slightly to suit.

​

If you would like to split your day into 2x3 hour online sessions you may request this.

About the Course Fee

A large portion of the course fee quoted is paid to the tutor, because, it’s their expertise that you pay for.

​

Where there is a selection of tutors,  course, fee's may vary due to individual tutor requirements for teaching.

 

In addition a there is a small fee for arranging your course which is included in the total course fee.

​

Payment

Course fee payment is required in advanced by BACS Bank Transfer invoice or IBAN for international students.

​

Booking Information

Payment Terms

Payment is required in advance and payments are handled safely and securely by BACS Bank Transfer invoicing (IBAN for International students.

​

Instalments

Some courses are available to pay in instalments, whereby a non-refundable deposit is required to book your course date. Please ask for details if this is of interest to you.

 

Booking Terms

  • Once you have booked a cancellation fee of £75*  will be deducted from your refund if you cancel your course up to and including 14 days prior to the start of the course once your payment has been received.

 

  • Cancellations received within 14 days of the course date are not eligible for a refund, however you may re-arrange your course for one other date if you wish. 

 

  • Should we need to cancel your course due to unforeseen circumstances we will refund your course fee in full.

​

* Amount is variable depending on the duration and type of the course.  When you enquire, out quote reply will provide the actual cancellation amount applicable. £75 applies only to a standard one day course.
