Rachel H | Goldsmith

Rachel is an experienced Goldsmith who has been creating and designing Jewellery for more than 20 years. Originally from the USA, Rachel is BA Jewellery & Metalsmithing Design Graduate of Humboldt University in California. Rachel moved to the UK and settled in Cumbria where she started her own Jewellery business in 2002.

As a Jeweller, Rachel has taken part in a number of creative projects that follow her own social and environmental philosophies including Project MARC Sustainable Jewellery Practice; Project Tibetan Refugee Centre; and Cancer Care Jewellery & Creative Metals - Group Therapist.

Rachel’s design style is influenced by the play of line and form found in nature and architecture and she uses a variety of mixed materials, textures, and surface treatments in her work to design and create contemporary handmade pieces intended to stand the test of time. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and she is a member of the Association of Contemporary Jewellery.

Rachel enjoys sharing her skills and has been teaching jewellery skills for over 15 years.
